Obstacles & Confidence Training

$165.00

1.5-Hour Private Session • for developing or advanced level riders

Confidence isn’t something you can force—it’s something you build.

This specialty lesson is designed to help horses and riders develop trust, communication, and problem-solving skills by working through a variety of real-world challenges in a safe, supportive environment.

Each session is tailored to the individual horse and rider. Obstacles may include bridges, tarps, logs, poles, gates, mailboxes, narrow passages, water crossings, backing exercises, side-passing, mounting blocks, unusual objects, and other confidence-building challenges. Every obstacle is approached at the horse’s pace, focusing on understanding rather than simply getting from one side to the other.

The goal is to create a horse that stays calm, thinks through new situations, and looks to their rider for guidance instead of reacting with fear or uncertainty. Riders also develop better timing, communication, leadership, and confidence that carries over to everyday riding.

This training is ideal for:

  • Green or inexperienced horses

  • Nervous or hesitant horses

  • Riders wanting to build confidence

  • Trail horses

  • Ranch horses

  • Horses preparing for new environments

  • Anyone looking to strengthen their partnership through practical challenges

This is not an EXCA lesson. While some obstacles may look familiar, the focus is on developing a confident, thoughtful horse and rider that are prepared for everyday situations—not competition.
